The pylon covers are shaped like inverted wings to produce negative lift at high speeds. Twelve Optima Yellow Top sealed cells are packed vertically in the center of the pontoons, with space for more cells if needed. Since the batteries account for most of the weight they are positioned toward the front to help offset the "cab backward" layout of the vehicle. The center of gravity becomes optimally centered between front and rear wheels.
